The location was hard to find because it's on a one way and my GPS refused to take me around the block instead of through Daimler's locked gate. Staff were helpful and patient and answered a bunch of questions to help me make a decision. I got 1 gallon of the one-time-only soft green shade for $9/gal (it's almost identical to their $18/gal shade) and a tiny $3 sample of snow white (used on the window trim). This paint is THICK but I still used 2 coats. I was worried about the paint brush streaks, but most flattened out as it dried. I don't paint much, so I'm not sure what is expected, but there was quite a lot of odor. I couldn't imagine doing this inside. You'd need to leave all of the windows open for at least a day or more. My front entryway still smells pretty strongly of paint and I let the door air out overnight. Overall, I'm happy with the paint for the price and the fact that it's recycled and not dumped somewhere. Would I want to do my whole house in it? Eh. Will I buy again? Probably. They have a 90 day return policy on unopened cans.
**48hr Update** it's been exactly 2 days since I painted the door and there's still a pretty strong odor. We've decided to return the (unopened) primer for fear it'll smell just as strong (and probably more) when painting an entire room. I'd use this paint on the exterior only, or interior if you have lots of time to let it offgas. We need to be able to use the space pretty quickly after painting, so unfortunately we'll probably have to spend quite a bit more to get a low-odor indoor paint.
**5 day update** The door still has a really strong smell. I like the color and the price, but still glad I only used it on the exterior.
These guys are awesome. They were able to find some color I bought from them years ago. Extremely helpful.
Great place to buy recycled paint!! By mixing together quality paints, the end result is an excellent quality with a low sheen like "eggshell" that can be brushed, rolled or sprayed. They have a selection of regular colors that match from one batch to the next. Great way to keep paint out of the landfills!!
Was told about this place. I went and super happy, the guy that was running front end was super nice and very helpful. I'm very glad Oregon recycles paint ( great alternative then going down storm drain or trash ). Very inexpensive paint and excellent quality. I didn't strain paint as I was in a hurry before our Oregon rain came, (I didn't have spair bucket), I did mix it though. I used my Greco X17 spray gun no issues, laid the paint excellent too. When I was there they sold 5gallon buckets for 75.00 (I seen old pic at 50.00). They had a special for 20.00 a 5 gallon, Medium grey. I haven't trimmed out yet. Saved a TON, while helping environment.
We got 80 gallons of paint to paint our house and shop. The color we picked is "sweet pea"and the cost was $0.00!!! IT WAS FREEE!!!
People are great
The master of ceremonies was
Fantabulous. The whole crew should be taken out to breakfast at the Otis Cafe in Lincoln City.
No Joke, metro take emm
This is a great place to buy paint. The prices are really cheap. They have limited colors but the price here makes up for the lack in variety. You could probably find something here from their standard color stock though unless you are looking for something specific. They don't do color matching. All their colors are on the walls so that you can see what they look like which is really nice. The employees are super helpful. My friend went there for a yearly special where you could get free paint which is unheard of now a days. This is a super place to get paint and you should cheap it out no place like this in town.
This place is awesome. They offer recycled paint for 15 bucks a gallon for their standard colors and they often times have paint available in limited edition colors for even less. If you need paint that is affordable this is the place to go. They have a limited selection of colors that makes it easy to pick a color since you are not sorting through 50 shades of white.
The paint is not flat but has a very small amount of gloss to it. It is very think paint and is very close to being a one coat paint. (I always need a quick thin second coast to even things out) It will probably be sperated when you get it but you can get a drill attachment to mix it up for less than 10 bucks at the hardware store. It takes about 48 to 72 hours for the paint smell to go away.
If you are considering using metro paint just do it. It is really good paint for the lowest price you will find anywhere
